Tips to set up and send your Artwork

Below is an overview of how to supply us your files to ensure that the production of your project isn’t held up in anyway.

If you need further assistance on submitting your Artwork, please visit How to Order Videos or call 1300 780 626. Alternatively, you can send us your Artwork for a Free File Review at anytime.  To better serve you, please ensure you are registered or logged into your account.

1. The easy way to supply your artwork for printing

The easiest and fastest way to send us your files is through PDF technology. Not only are the files complete (with no missing fonts or links) but they hold true colour management, trapping any open pre-press information. The files are so small in size that it is a breeze to send them over the internet via our ftp and e-mail services - without any loss of quality or data.

2. File Size

All marketing files (flyers/postcards/multi page brochures) need to be built to the final trim size plus 5mm bleed. (A4 = 297 x 210mm trim size = 302×215mm graphic file).
Business cards need to be built to 54×90mm plus 1mm bleed top and bottom and 2mm left and right. (Business cards 54×90mm trim size = 56×94mm graphic file)

3. Fonts/Text

If working out of vector based software such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or Freehand, all text must be converted to outlines before generating the final PDF file. If working out of Adobe PhotoShop, simply flatten the image. Please also make sure that you are not using a font size smaller than 7pt.

4. Resolution

We recommend that all images used are at least 300dpi for printing purposes. Submitting files with a higher resolution than 300dpi is not necessary.

5. Colour

We require that all submitted files be saved in CMYK to ensure colour accuracy.

6. Compression

We suggest compressing your file(s) using WinZip for the PC and if you are using a Mac, we suggest using the native Apple Archive-.zip process, as this will decrease the chances of corruption. Using StuffIt for the Mac is also acceptable.

7. Safety Zone

Don’t place any critical images or text beyond the safety zone, which is at least 5mm from the final trim size, to avoid it getting cut off when the finished piece is trimmed.

8.  Sending us your Artwork

When placing your order, please specify that you are Supplying your Artwork in the Design option box, then Upload your file as either a PDF or Zipped file (for several documents).  Please note: File size maximum is10MB and this will take a few minutes depending on your file size.  You also have the option to email your file/s to us after ordering.  Please follow the instructions when ordering and ensure you supply us your Purchase Order number as the Subject.

If you need to transfer a large file that is too big to email or upload (usually over 10MB), please visit the Momentum Mediacentre and login using the same username and password as your Momentum Print account.

Please note:  if you would like to use Existing Artwork (that MomentumPrint have printed previously), you do not need to send the artwork again.  Just specify that using ‘Existing Artwork’ in the Design option box and then leave File Name and any notes in the Special Instructions box.
